Pre-Treatment Preparation
To ensure the safest and most effective treatment, please follow these guidelines before your appointment:
- Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds for 2 weeks before treatment
- Avoid spray tanning for 2 weeks before treatment
- Do not wax, tweeze, or epilate hair for 3-4 weeks prior
- Shave the treatment area 12-24 hours before your appointment
- Avoid retinol and exfoliating products for 3-5 days before treatment
- Avoid chemical peels or aggressive skin treatments in the treatment area for 2 weeks prior
- Inform your provider if you are taking antibiotics or photosensitizing medications
Shaving is important because the laser targets the hair follicle beneath the skin, not the hair above the surface.
Post-Treatment Care
After laser hair removal, the skin may appear slightly pink or sensitive for a short period. To support proper healing:
- Avoid sun exposure for 1-2 weeks after treatment
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily
- Avoid hot baths, saunas, and intense workouts for 24 hours
- Avoid exfoliating the treated area for 3-5 days

Laser Hair Removal Contraindications
